About I G Medical
IG Medical is a primary care provider serving communities in Yorkshire through its surgeries in Ilkley and Grassington. The name IG stands for Ilkley and Grassington Surgeries, reflecting the partnership between the two surgeries. The surgeries formally merged on 3 August 2015, bringing together their teams and services to strengthen local healthcare provision.
We take pride in delivering high-quality primary care, supporting patients with a wide range of GP services and community health support. We are also part of the Wharfedale, Airedale and Craven Alliance, working collaboratively with other healthcare organisations to improve services and access to care across the region.
We work hard to create a warm, supportive environment for both our patients and staff.
Allocated GP
All our patients are allocated a named GP, but you can choose to see any GP at the surgery. If you would like to know the name of your allocated ‘usual’ GP, please contact the surgery to enquire.
Patients aged 75 and over will have a named GP to specifically co-ordinate their care, as will younger patients with complex health needs.
Health Checks
All patients over 75 who do not already attend the surgery for an annual review are welcome to book a health check with the Health Care Assistant. They will check your blood pressure, weight, height, and urine and enquire about any health needs. Please book with the receptionist if you wish to have a health check.
Practice Charter
If a patient misses more than three appointments without notification, the practice will write to find out whether there is a problem. If the situation cannot be resolved the patient will be removed from our list.
Violent or abusive patients may be removed from the practice list with immediate effect.
PCN and Local Alliance (WACA)
IG Medical is a member of the Wharfedale, Aireborough and Craven Alliance. This partnership allows the practice to share staff and resources, including:
